Petition Step 2: Setup

1. Click the Create a Petition button under the Petitions tab:

2. Fill out the following two fields, shown here.  Both of these fields are for internal use only (you're supporters won't see what you type).  Enter names and descriptions which are meaningful (and searchable) for you and your team.


[NOTE: Both fields are required. You can’t move forward until you’ve completed this step.]

What shall we call this petition?

This is where you’ll give your Petition the reference name that is visible to you and your team members.  Try and keep it simple and memorable.

Tell us about this petition. 

Here, you can be a bit more descriptive about the purpose of your Petition.  Again, this information that will only be visible to your team (not your supporters). Once you’re done, click the Design My Form button in the lower right-hand corner to advance to the next step.

Select your layout.

You can now select the basic look your Petition page will take on by clicking on one of the available form templates.  These templates are based on tried and tested best practices, so you know you're starting off on the right foot!

NOTE:  Once you've made your selection, and clicked on the "Next: Composer" button in the lower right-hand corner, YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT BACK.  If you want to choose a different layout, you must start over.
